Exhibit: Syrian Refugee Artworks
An exhibit of artworks by Syrian refugee artists from Zaa'tari refugee camp in Jordan. Sponsored by the Midwest Institute for IIE and launched from Lincoln Land Community College. These Syrian refugee artists are painting on canvases from tents they lived in, drawing on scrap paper and creating mixed media art from whatever they could get their hands on. The result is a body of artwork celebrating the hope of a war-torn people who left their homes to create better lives for themselves and their families. The exhibit carries the experiences, memories, and an array of feelings of Syrian artists who reside in the Zaa'tari Refugee Camp in Jordan. These artists touch our own humanity in the gentlest of ways through powerful imagery that transforms the heart. All the artworks are for sale to raise funds for the Zaa’tari Refugee Camp.
