Vision

The Midwest Institute for International-Intercultural Education (MIIIE) is a consortium of two-year colleges in the USA for the purpose to enhance and support international-intercultural education for its member colleges. The consortium was established in 1992 with funding from the US Department of Education, Title VI program and it is designated a non-profit organization under the Federal Internal Revenue Code, section 501(c)(3) for educational purposes.

MIIIE’s primary mission is to provide opportunities for faculty curriculum and professional development by organizing projects of value and effectiveness.  In particular, MIIIE has been organizing curriculum workshops, academic conferences, college-wide teams, virtual professional groups, and overseas projects for the faculty.  Most of its projects are largely supported by grants or sponsorships from federal agencies, non-profit organizations, and university international centers (NRCs).

MIIIE’s operating principles are based on inclusion, equity, accountability, respectful collegiality, effective programming, and frugal budgeting.
